The second edition of the India Mobile Congress (IMC 2018) with its theme “New Digital Horizons Connect, Create, Innovate” started at Aerocity, New Delhi on October 25, 2018, with large companies showcasing solutions for Smart City development, home and office automation, and IoT.
5G is the buzzword and everybody invariably seem to be using IoT for all solutions they speak about. A couple of major attraction are Express Wifi from Facebook, built around the controversial Internet.org, and Jio’s all-encompassing solutions portfolio. There are innovative startups exhibiting their solutions like blockchain.
IMC 2018, aims at building upon innovative ideas, forging lasting industry relationships, showcasing leading-edge mobile technology & product trends, manufacturing services, sectoral insights and impactful solutions from across the world for our region. As South Asia’s largest digital forum, the major objectives of IMC include promoting skilling, local manufacturing & entrepreneurship, attracting investments, driving policy and regulatory dialogue, supporting technology exports, encouraging R&D efforts in the ICT & TMT sector and enhance digital cooperation.
The event is organized by the Department of Telecommunications, Government of India and Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) and will conclude on October 27, 2018.
